The September Issue

The September Issue is a documentary film which shows behind the scenes drama that follows editor-in- chief Anna Wintour. The film revolves around the making of the Vogue September 2007 issue. The September issue is traditionally the most important issue of the year.

Coddington was a former model who became Vogues creative director. In the film, Coddington is often portrayed as the victim to Wintour's aggressive personality. However, the relationship between them reveals itself to be symbiotic. Coddington is the only one who can stand up to Wintour. With Coddington's keen eye for design, Wintour approves most of her ideas.
The greatest scene in the film is when the two share an awkward, silent elevator ride to meet Jean Paul Gaultier. It's obvious that these two tolerate each other for the magazine but to be in the fashion world, you have to beat your way through. Don't be too nice or you will lose and that is what Coddington does.
This film features appearances by many well-known and influential people in the fashion industry, from the top editorial models to noted fashion photographers and designers.
