Rick Owens
Designer of the week is the mysterious Rick Owens. Owens is known for his glamour meets grunge looks. The American fashion designer went to Los Angeles Trade Technical College where he took pattern making and draping courses. He has done a lot of knock-offs to designer clothing. He began his own label in 1994 and by 2001, Kate Moss posed in one of his leather jackets for an editorial shot. Many other well known celebrities have also been shot wearing his pieces. He featured his first runway collection at New York Fashion Week in 2002. Sponsored by American Vogue, Anna Wintour listed Owens as one of the most fabulous discoveries. Moving from California to Paris, he meets his partner and expands his image. By 2013, Owens made the decision to open a night club that would resemble the atmosphere of "Spotlight", in Paris. He continues to work on new creations for his upcoming collections.
