Mara Hoffman Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2014
Creative. Classic straight runway with just the brand name at the back. Line presents drapery, dresses, mixing patterns and prints, swim suits, evening wear, cardigan, maxi dress, crop top, sheer, cut out, jumpsuit, and tie dye. Color consists of rainbow, white, navy, pink, turquoise, red, and green. Love where the patterns are sitting on the body. They help create that illusion of elongating the body and accenting the sexiest part of a womens body. I also enjoy the amount of color in each collection that Hoffman creates. It shows that she isn't afraid to use color. Overall this would get 9/10
Mara Hoffman Fall 2014 Ready-To-Wear New York Fashion Week
Creative. Classic straight white runway with the brand name at the back. Line presents patterns, crop top, high waist skirts, dresses, shapes, sheer, asymmetry, gowns, evening wear, boxy style, mixing prints, jump suit, suits, sequence, shawl, texture, fringe, cardigan, layering, and dresses over pants. Color consists of black, white, navy pink, gray, blue, and rainbow. The mop jacket was a miss for me. The rest of the collection was just beautiful. So much movement, sex appeal, structure, drapery technique, and styling ideas on point. Overall an amazing collection with a 9/10
Mara Hoffman Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week S/S15
Average. Classic straight white runway with a cactus towards the back of the runway. Setting the theme for a desert western collection? Line presents capris, classic shirt, dresses, cut outs, structure, maxi dress, high waist pants, shirt dresses, swim suits, mixing patterns, shapes, asymmetry, sheer, cardigan, and crop top. Color consists of white, green, rainbow, navy, orange, pink, blue, white, and gray. So many great pieces together as well as being apart. However there was a few that was a miss. This collection featured sex appeal, casual, loose fit, and boho chic. Overall, this would get 7/10
Mara Hoffman Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week F/W15
Average. Classic white runway with a picture at the back of the runway. The picture looks like a sunrise on a desert. Line presents dresses, jumpsuit, layering, mixing patterns, sheer, knit, prints, wool, peacoat, poncho, ruffles, cardigan, structure, sweater, boxy style, shirt dresses, and sweater. Color consists of black, white, gray, cream, orange, red, blue, gold, pink, and navy. Love the different shapes and it feels like the past is coming back when you layer a dress over a long sleeve shirt. Not sure how everyone will take it. Never have I ever seen so many patterns come from one designer. Each time they are different and none are being repeated. I love it! There are some great ideas in this collection but once again there are some questionable ones. Based on trend report, I look forward to see how everyone grabs to this collection. Overall, this would get 7/10
