Prabal Gurung Fashion Shows

Thanks for being patient while I was around looking for the next big style. To conclude where I left off, here is Prabal Gurung's recent fashion shows. Take the time to check them out. They all bring something different to the table. 2016 is going to be an amazing year for fashion, not just with Prabal Gurung but with many other designers! To switch it up a little, the first couple of videos are different from the rest. Enjoy!

Prabal Gurung Fall 2014 New York Fashion Week- Backstage, interview & Runway

If you have been following along with me, you know that I enjoy hearing the designers talk about their designs, inspiration as well as seeing how they put the show together. This inspires me because I to have a line, however, it's a matter of making it and getting it seen. This is a major accomplishment and a breath taking moment for any designer to experience. If this is your dream, just hold on it to and strive to get it. 

Prabal Gurung Spring 2015 Ready-to-Wear

Creative. Another different style to the normal shows that I show you. This has the designer and the a couple of people from the audience talking about the collection. Line presents sheer, prints, patterns, dresses, blazers, crop top, lace, sequence, layering fabric, texture, tailoring, drapery, ruffles, skirts, classic shirt, feathers, leather, and sports wear. Color consists of white, black, gray, navy, turquoise, purple, green, orange, and red. Love the work wear as well the mixing of fabric. It keeps your eye wondering around the whole outfit, adds flavor to the outfit as well as being fashion forward. Granted you can't really see the runway but it does make the collection seem as though it's floating across the runway. Overall, 9/10

Prabal Gurung Fall/Winter 2015

Creative. L shape white runway with the audience along the wall. Line presents winter coats, dresses, fur, drapery, sweater, skirt, work wear, patterns, tailoring, sheer, layering, prints, volume, cut out, jumpsuit, lace, fringe, vest, pea coat, leather, gowns, V-neck, evening wear, texture, sequence, and mixing fabric. Color consists of gray, beige, black, brown, white, and red. The mixing sheer with a different fabric as well as adding a side pleat to a dress is a great idea. The pleat placement is on point as changes a ordinary dress to uniqueness. With sheer, you eye automatically stop at the sheer. It forces you to pat attention to whats going on with the outfit. Not to mention, Gurung is amazing at where he places the hint of sheer fabric. Definitely an elegance and sex appeal in this collection. With a clean cut runway, this runway was cohesive with the collection. Straight lights, geometric shapes as well as only being a "L" shape. Overall, 9/10

Prabal Gurung Spring/Summer 2016

Creative. The fashion show opens to two rows of monks up till 3:24 and then the show begins. Line presents dresses, patterns, orange, sheer, asymmetry, fringe, loose tops, drapery, evening wear, sequence, ruffles, knit dresses, cape, V-neck, strap less, and feathers. Color consists of white, orange, yellow, black, and red. From the beginning, you can see where the inspiration came fun. There is a ton of movement and elegance in this collection. Definitely a different pace then the last couple of collections. I feel like a lot was held back but still a good collection. Overall, 8/10
