Peter Copping

Designer of the week is the Creative Director Peter Copping. Moved to London at the age of 18 to study fashion design. After attending Central Saint Martins, he went to Royal College of Art where he received his graduate degree. For his first studio experience, Copping was invited to work for Christian Lacroix in Paris. What officially prepared Peter for a twelve year journey at Louis Vuitton was Sonia Rykiel. Copping gained the opportunity to work under Marc Jacobs and oversea the women's ready-to-wear collection. Soon after, Copping joined Nina Ricci as Artistic Director where he would spend five years changing the legacy of supreme femininity and romance. It wasn't till October of 2014 when he was appointed Creative Director of Oscar de la Renta. The passing of Mr. de la Renta was not expected but before leaving this world, he hand picked Copping to be responsible for setting the design direction across all product categories at the New York based company. What an amazing opportunity and honor to be hand picked by the one and only Oscar de la Renta. To be around him, learn from him and so on before his passing. His first collection for Oscar de la Renta was featured this fall of 2015.
