Tamara Mellon
Designer of the week is the former chief creative officer and co-founder of Jimmy Choo; Tamara Mellon. Jimmy Choo is mostly known for their accessories, shoes and handbags. Mellon stepped down from Jimmy Choo in 2011 and decided to start her own name brand which followed in the footsteps of Jimmy Choo with accessories, handbags and shoes. Her brand officially launched in 2013. However, she didn't just start off with Jimmy Choo. Much like other well known designers and upcoming talent. Mellon started from the bottom and worked her way up. She eventually became an accessories editor for British Vogue in 1990. Mellon was recognized for her potential for development of high-end accessories which gave her the courage to approach Mr. Jimmy Choo with an idea of launching a ready-to-wear shoe company. Being a co-founder of Jimmy Choo has opened many doors for Mellon.
