Lela Rose

Designer of the week is Lela Rose. This American designer grew up in the heart of Texas. While attending the University of Colorado, Rose had a small business where she would create vintage scarves and vest. With the growth of attention, this sparked her interest to go into fashion. Rose is another designer to make the list of going to Parsons School of Design. Definitely a school worth looking at if you want to be in the fashion industry. Once Rose graduated, she was hired to work under Christian Francis Roth and Richard Tyler.
It was 1996 when she decided to launch her first collection out of her own apartment. This collection featured embellishments, feminine style and one of a kind pieces. Mostly handling private clients, it wasn't till Rose designed an outfit worn by Jenna Bush that her business expanded. In 2006, Rose was able to debut her Lela Rose Wedding collection landing her a partnership with The Dessy Group for an exclusive bridesmaid line. Rose is a very respectable women and hands on with everything in her company. Definitely a designer worth keeping an eye on!
