Designer of the week is the icon Nicole Miller. After attending the Rhode Island School of Design and earning a BFA in Apparel Design, Miller spent a year training in draping fabric at L'Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne. Learning the classics of couture, fabric manipulation had become her signature of design along with the black, bold colors and cut of the clothes. Miller also interned with a legendary dress designer Clovis Ruffin. All of her intense training has paid off. With her first shop opening on Madison Avenue in 1986, over time, her brand has grown to major cities across the United States. You can find her sexy yet classic collections in many department stores and boutiques. These form flattering dresses draw on inspiration from cinema, contemporary art, mid 20th century architecture, as well as exotic cultures. Miller has designed for babies, toddlers, handbags, footwear, home furnishing, and accessories.
