Billy Reid Fashion Shows

Designer Interview with Billy Reid Spring/Summer 2016
A sneak peek into the fashion show. Hear from Billy Reid talk about his vision, and customer base. He notices that customers are drawn to the neutrals and so he listened. It's always amazing to hear from the designer talk about their collections because it opens your eyes up. You see what they are talking about and then your own imagination comes alive. Your impression and so on sparks with every look.

Average. Classic straight runway with just a plain black background for the show. Still with the casual wear, this collection continues to consists of neutrals. However, some of the styling has aged the models. Being a stylist, I would change it up so that no matter the creation. The customer wearing the collection will feel fresh and young. A lot of the pieces can stand alone so I can't wait to see what some of our fashionistas come up with. With this collection, you get to see a lot of pleated pants, sweaters, trench coats, shorts, patterns with different textures. I wish the runway was a little different like how it was on the Fall 2015 collection. Other then that, 7/10

Creative. Love the location of the fashion show. There is a lot of layering, prints, patterns, neutrals with a pop of color. Along with textured material, boxy over size look, sweaters and warm tones. Definitely ready for winter. These looks have a hint of a casual look to them. I do like the different make of sweaters and coats. They are something that hasn't been seen in men's fashion. The idea is there, so I look forward to see how he advances them. A lot of these pieces, I can see working well as separates. The scenery of the fashion shows just enhances the collection completely. You automatically envision this person right in front of a fireplace and or relaxing in their living room. Overall, 9/10
