Derek Lam Autumn Winter 2015 New York Fashion Show
Creative. Fashion show opens up to a classic straight runway. Brown walls with no brand logo towards the back but neutral runway. Line presents sweaters, dresses, skirts, metallic, suits, work wear, trench coat, texture, structure, 70's inspired, jumpsuit, layering, prints and patterns, flair pant, Color consists of black, shades of brown, navy, gray, burnt orange, cream, white, turquoise, and neutrals. The runway definitely suited the collection. A great way to start off Fall. A lot of great ideas with a hint of 70's inspired pieces. Overall, 8/10
Derek Lam Spring Summer 2016
Average. Unique runway with the audience outlining the models every step. Geometric wall placement lighting up the runway. Line presents skirt, dresses, layering, asymmetry, denim, trench coats, suits, fur coats, prints and patterns, classic shirt, sweater, ruffles, knit, lace, cut outs, texture, feathers, sheer, and dimension. Color consists of black, beige, white, yellow, charcoal, navy, and gray. The runway is very interesting. Even though the camera is focused on one model, you catch yourself looking at the other models walking in a different direction. There is a lot of layering in this collection. As though this may seen like a good idea, Spring/Summer is a time for warmth. Not many people are going to be layering so this is surprising. Overall, 6/10
