Designer of the week is Carol Lim. Lim met her soon to be partner in 1993 at the University of California. Partner, Humberto Leon, took a trip with Lim to Hong Kong that sparked a lot of inspiration. Therefor, inspired them to open a store. They both became the founders of Opening Ceremony in 2002. The company continued to expand to multiple locations. It wasn't till 2011 when both Leon and Lim were announced creative directors of the fashion brand Kenzo (LVMH). With bold prints and shapes, they have modernized Kenzo for the good. There first official collection was debuted in 2012 which was inspired by Ellsworth Kelly and the upstate New York. They are best known for their cool take on fashion. Those who go to Parsons School of Design have possibly met Lim a couple time. Lim is an adviser to the school as well as being a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. This is a great opportunity for many.
