Designer of the week is Charlotte Ronson. With a love for fashion at a young age, Ronson actually began designing pieces for her friends with no actual schooling for it. Love the idea of someone just trying to accomplish what her friends are asking. With Harpers Bazar and Rolling Stone under her belt when she apprenticed with them, she began getting ideas on whats trending and what isn't trending. Gaining the attention from fashion magazines such a vogue, Ronson eventually opened up her flagship store in New York that is also partnered with Japanese apparel, The Wall. You can find her now new lines at Urban Outfitters and JCPenny. Not just worn by the public but obviously worn by many celebrities like Gwen Stefani, Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Richie, Jessica Simpson and more.
By 2009, she showed a collection at Bryan Park that was definitely memorable. A moment worth seeing in person. I think what helped spark her drive and being able to have a quick turn around, is the fact that her family made sure her and her siblings continued to do things that are of interest and useful. Whether it be for fun and or if they misbehaved, they continued to do things of interest. Growing up with a twin, Ronson began trying to create her own image. Not just from her sister but also from her friends. When you only have a few favorite shops around that you and your friends go too, you all tend to dress the same. The only way Ronson could be different is shopping when she went to visit her dad and or create her own garments. What i love about Charlotte Ronson is that she is more relatable. Wanting to create your own identity, struggles of having a family while still having a full time job, also carrying herself as if nothing was weighing on her shoulders. She is a very inspiring designer. Check her out!
