Olivier Rousteing

Designer of the week is Olivier Rousteing. This French designer was adopted at the age of 1. When he grew up in Bordeaux, he decided to move to Paris to study at ESMOD. After graduating in 2003, he hit the ground running by beginning his career as a designer at Roberto Cavalli. After getting promoted as creative director of the Italian label, he spent a good couple of years learning and networking. Finding out ways to better himself, challenge himself. By 2009, he left the Italian label to join Balmain.
While working closely with Christophe Decamin, Rousteing became it's next creative director which in fact replaced Christophe Decamin while only at 25 years old. This is actually amazing. The fashion industry has a small amount of young designers so when Rousteing joined the industry. The industry quickly took note. Many say as well as the companies numbers,  Rousteing being the creative director was actually good for the brand. Rousteing's objective was to go towards the finer aspects of French couture.
Rousteing brought a fresh overall look to the brand and it was very much needed. With the increase in the brands profits, Rousteing continues to gain the benefits of the brands profits. Rousteing doesn't want to disappoint anyone and I for one am not disappointed. Would absolutely love to go see his shows in person. The attention to detail work, and overall show leaves you wanting to see more. We all look forward to seeing what he brings out next.
