Gareth Pugh

Designer of the week is Gareth Pugh. Known for his fantastic futuristic design aesthetic, this designer landed his first fashion publication feature in 2003 when one of his designs for Central Saint Martins was selected for the cover of British magazine Dazed & Confused. Pugh started his career as a teenager working as a costume designer of English National Youth Theatre. Pugh even was on Fashion House but left before production ended. Catching attention from the fashion industry, Pugh made his London Fashion Week debut in 2005 with a group of his fellow designers to finally getting his first solo show in 2006.
In 2008, Pugh was awarded the prestigious Andam award in recognition of his rising prominence within the fashion industry. First Menswear in 2009 and after receiving financial backing from LVMH, Pugh presented his first live Paris Fashion Week show in 2010. You may recognized some of his work in some of Beyonces music videos like Diva and Run the World. She also wears some of his pieces in her performance. Pugh has inspired many. The amount of hard work and determination not to mention getting recognition from the Fashion Industry for his quick rise in the industry has made many take notes. It also helps when you have Anna Wintour supporting you and that is exactly what Pugh has. Pugh's incredible and unmissable designs makes his designs stand out from others.
