Designer of the week is Tomas Maier. Maier is best known for the Italian luxury lifestyle brand Bottega Veneta. After attending Waldorf, Maier headed to Paris to train under Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture. Maier has had the opportunity to design for luxury houses in France, Italy, and Germany. His experience is designing men's wear, leather work, accessories, working for Sonia Rykiel, Guy Laroche, and Revillon being their creative director for four years. While working under these prestigious brands, he takes it a step further and begins doing women's ready-to-wear for Hermes. Wanting to start fresh, he quit all his contacts and moved to Florida. This is when he got appointed by Tom Ford to become the Creative Director at Bottega Veneta. 2001 was the start of presenting his collections with making a good impression on his accessories. After years of growing, he has successfully had his hand on almost everything.
