Designer of the week is the well know Victoria Beckham. Best known for her rise to fame with the all-female group Spice Girls. Also known as Posh Spice. After the Spice Girls split, Beckham signed with Virgin Records and Telstar Records. She has been in official documentaries, reality shows and guest appearances. She has become a well international recognized style icon and a fashion designer. She became the ambassador of Dolce and Gabbana as well as the face of many well known brands. It was 2008 when she launched an eponymous label and in 2011, a lower-priced diffusion label. In 2004, Beckham designed a limited-edition fashion line for Rock & Republic called VB Rocks. After departing from Rock & Republic, she launched her own denim label called dvd Style. Beckham even launched a dvdstyle.com website to promote her fashion work. Transitioning from a singer, model to designer has been more successful that what many had expected. With her many fans and those who she had won over in the fashion industry, Beckham continues to shine in the spotlight. Fun fact: Did you know that Victoria Beckham started off as an insurance clerk? Did you know that she was even a hairdresser? Did you know that in 1980, she watched the musical film Fame which changed her path to pursuing a musical career? She enrolled in Laine Theatre Arts where she studied dance and modeling. She eventually became a band member of Persuasion.
