Designer of the week is Joseph Altuzarra. Altuzarra is known for his luxury women's read-to-wear clothing. Influenced by multicultural upbringing and his international education in fashion, Altuzarra was launched in 2008. As well as worked as a freelance designer at Proenza Schouler. Seeking to further enhance his technical construction skills, Altuzarra apprenticed with the former head of Rochas atelier patternmaker Nicolas Caito. He even worked as first assistant to Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci which refined his technique in draping and tailoring. Altuzarra had his first show for Spring 2010. In 2011, he was awarded CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award as well as CFDA Swarovski award for womenswear design in 2012. He continues to inspire others and draw people in to his creations with every show.
