Designer of the week is Giles Deacon. Deacon is best known for his playful designs. His collaboration with High Street retail New Look. Wild prints, pop culture, humorous, dark and sexy with diversity. His designs had sparked an interest in London Fashion. Before getting into fashion, Deacon actually wanted to be a marine biologist but failed his chemistry a-level class. Later, he joined Harrogate College of Arts, where he took an art foundation course and completed. It's when he got to Central St. Martins, that he found his true calling. Central St. Martins was where he was in the same class as fashion designer Alexander McQueen and Luella Bartley. After graduation, Deacon chose to travel and gain experience at fashion houses such as Gucci and Bottega Veneta before creating his own label. In 2003, his first label, GILES, launched his first collection at London Fashion Week 2004. With the awards Deacon started to receive and being named British Fashion Design of the Year in 2006, he was appointed creative director of French fashion house Ungaro in April 2010. However, that ended September 2011.
Remarkable, inspirational and breath taking! This would be the greatest experience in the world to get a chance to do. See another designers sketchbook which is usually called their Holy Bible and or Diary. To have the experience to help a designer put together their collection before it hits the runway and or to actually be the designer is a dream. I could do this all day and not get tired!
