Rick Owens Fashion Shows

Rick Owens SS14 Vicious
Creative. The show opens up to models walking out and down stairs. They are doing a  march while heading to the runway where they stop in the middle of the runway to preform what looks like a tribal dance piece. Line presents layering, asymmetry, shorts, leather, boxy style, sleeveless tops, long vests, texture, harem, grunge, wraps, and ponchos. Color consists of black, beige, charcoal, pink, and white. At the end of the show, the girls get in a line and dance off the stage. I enjoy the fact that he is intertwining dancing and fashion together. The dancing enhances the pieces. Seeing every movement and how each piece takes to every step. There is also a mix of masculinity and femininity. The stage as well as the back of the runway was perfect for this collection. Overall, this would get 10/10
Rick Owens FW14 Moody
Creative. "S" shape runway in a very large location. The audience is outlining the runway for the models. Line presents layering, poncho, shorts, long boxy jumpsuit, leather, wrap, sweater, winter wear, exaggerated long sleeves, grunge, velvet, asymmetry, fringe, straps, mixing fabrics, and patterns. Color consists of black, charcoal, plum, white, and gray. Definitely looks like something you would see in video games and movies. With the boxy looks, the runway is actually in connection to the collection. There is more masculinity in this collection. Unique, interesting and definitely worth the watch. Overall, this would get 10/10
Rick Owens SS15 Faun
Average. Similar runway as the last runway. Line presents long vest, dresses with shorts attached, velvet, fur, boxy style, texture, asymmetry, sheer, quilted, poncho, wrap, long shirts, ruffles, oversize tie, mixing patterns and fabrics, Color consists of beige, brown, pastel purple, hunter green, white, black, maroon, and gray. Not sure how people will take the random extra fabric at the bottom of the dresses to make them seem like they are flowing out but when the model turns around, it's plain to see that they are connected to the shorts so it bunches in the back. I do enjoy the pieces he created that are different from his usual traditional pieces. Overall, this would get 8/10
Rick Owens FW15 Mens Sphinx
Average. Classic straight runway with nothing at the end of the runway. Line presents shorts, trench coat, asymmetry, skinny jeans, layering, jumpsuit, lines, texture, leather, velvet, long vest, metallic, mixing fabrics, tunic, and winter coats. Color consists of many shades of black, gray, beige, brown and white. Looks like there isn't much of a difference from the women's and men's collection. However, still creative and a whole lot of masculinity. Strong, unique and what everyone cant wait to see. Overall, this would get 8/10
