Designer of the week is Peter Dundas. Studying at Parsons in New York, Dundas grew and obsession with the female body. After Parsons, he became an assistant costume designer for Comedie Francaise. His costume designs caught the eye of Jean Paul in which he offered Dundas a job as his assistant. Dundas leaves and joined Jean Paul Gaultier as his design assistant in 1992. It wasn't till the year of 2000, that he moved to Christian Lacroix where he was able to develop his flair for striking colors and patterns. This gave him the chance to enhance his dressmaking skills.
However, that only lasted for two years. In 2002, Dundas became the chief designer at Roberto Cavalli. Cavalli brought out a punk side from Dundas but that didn't satisfy Dundas. He moved to Emanuel Ungaro and became their creative director. It wasn't till 2008 when he joined Emilio Pucci. Pucci represents the idea of a seaside glamour in which Dundas looks forward to developing. The freedom as well as the seductiveness lifestyle aspect grabs Dundas. Usually what Dundas is into at the time, his collections end up reflecting it. His biggest muses are rock stars' girlfriends and he is known for creating short dresses.
