Damir Doma

The designer of the week is the fairly new Damir Doma. Also known as the creative director of Parisian brand. He studied fashion and then moved to Belgian where he gained some experience under the designer Raf Simons. In 2006, he partnered up with Stephan Wembacher and created his own label bearing his name which was launched the same year. His first Menswear collection debuted Spring Summer 2008 season at Paris Fashion Week in June 2007. Gaining attention from Germany as titled the most interesting young designer putting him right after Karl Lagerfeld and Jil Sanders. Doma's style has a sense of intellectual and poetic flare.
A major influence on his work is the Italian fashion designer, Giorgio Armani and the technology driven designer, Issey Miyake. Doma explored many different interpretations of contemporary masculinity in avant-garde silhouettes making him the modern Armani. In 2013, the former President of Christian Dior, Bernd Beetz, joined the board of the Damir Doma brand. Doma is known for getting into the heads of his customers creating that clean, uncluttered silhouette. He has a recognizable identity that stand out in every one of his collections. Doma has created Menswear, womenswear, shoes, eyewear, and a fragrance collection. Definitely someone to keep an eye on!
Past Fashion Collections:
Men's Ready to Wear Spring/Summer 2008
Men's Ready to Wear Autumn/Winter 2008
Men's Ready to Wear Spring/Summer 2009
 Men's Ready to Wear Autumn/Winter 2009
 Men's Ready to Wear Spring/Summer 2010
 Women's Ready to Wear Autumn/Winter 2010
I really do enjoy how his collections don't go skimpy. His unique way of layering and playing with cuts of the fabric is really interesting. Very inspirational and gives great ideas on how to make it your own style.
