Dries Van Noten

Designer of the week is Dries Van Noten. Van Noten is a Belgian fashion designer and is quoted as "one of fashion's most cerebral designers" by New York times. He presented his first menswear collection in London in 1986. Van Noten's collections are ready to wear, not haute couture. You can find some of his pieces at Barney's New York. He creates men's and women's wear for both spring and winter. He prefers to create clothes that can be sold in stores. He doesn't want to create clothes that you don't see in stores. Which I find is understandable. His collections have gone worldwide. Eccentric with curiously strong emotional undertow, his sophisticated clothes are adapting quicker with customers. Having an artistic approach to fashion, he delivers prints and color combinations each season. His signature is floral and color.

Definitely worth watching videos. A lot of creativity with the runway as well as his designs. Even though he had a rough time in the 1990's, he has come back with a hit. Safe to say, his collection is unique, wanted by many and continues to grab attention.
