Fun Fact: Eco Friendly Milk Fiber

Milk fiber is an Eco-friendly fiber. The fiber was invented in the 1930’s in Italy. Sometimes Milk Fiber is marketed as Aralac, Milkofil, Lanatil, or Merinova. It was used to combine with other materials such as wool and cotton to stretch the material further. Milk fiber is made from casein, which is an odorless protein found in mammalian mile. The fiber has a consistency of silk but has naturally antibacterial properties.
A German designer Anke Domaske is known for creating Milk fiber clothes. Her formula dramatically cuts down on water, chemicals and time. Domaske uses no chemicals, just natural ingredients. With a maximum of two liters of water, the creation happens within an hour. She also uses secondary milk that doesn't meet grocery store standards. Milk fiber is smooth to wear and very light. However, the fabric wrinkles easily and is not very durable by itself. Milk fiber is becoming popular in the fashion world.
This is how the Milk Fiber is made.
